The Essential Math Skill Inventory was developed by Bob Sornson and the Early Learning Foundation. Using this framework, teachers collect data on each student, allowing them to have a real time understanding of a student.
With that data-based understanding, teachers then design individual, small group, and center based instruction that meets the needs of their students. In fact, with enough instruction, time and practice, all kids can have a solid foundation for math.
